Janson & May is a family owned, independent London-based premium residential property search
agency. We work exclusively with UK clients, international clients, and private family
offices who are searching for the ideal luxury London property to buy or rent.
We offer a highly personalised and discreet service using our networks and contacts in the industry
to source the best on- and off-market properties for our clients, whether buying or renting. We
represent our clients’ interests in their property search, negating the need for them to deal directly
with the multitude of estate agents and vendors, saving them time, stress and – often – money.
We have our clients’ objectives constantly in our minds and are here to find the right property for
you based on your personal requirements. We have detailed knowledge of London and the
surrounding Home Counties and can advise you on which areas or boroughs to focus your search.
We will respond quickly on your behalf when a suitable new property comes on the market, and we
often have access to properties before they’re listed which keeps you ahead of other buyers looking
in the same area.
Once we have a brief, we liaise directly with estate agents and property developers to filter out any
unsuitable properties, involving you only at the point where there is a property in which you are
likely to be truly interested. We can accompany you on any viewings, or if you’re buying from abroad
we can arrange virtual viewings via video.
Once we’ve found your dream property, we support you through the whole acquisition process,
from negotiation to conveyancing to finally collecting the keys. Our aim is to take away all the hassle
and stress from your property search so that you can walk through your new front door with
satisfaction and joy!

The Story
Hello we’re Romaine and Alaina, mother and daughter, founders and owners of Janson & May.
Our family has been in the property business since the 1990s when our first single commercial
property acquisition expanded to a commercial and residential property portfolio covering the UK,
Spain and France. Alaina spent her formative years accompanying her parents on viewings and
witnessing the negotiation process, so it was no surprise that, after graduating, she joined an
established property agency in their flagship Notting Hill office. She soon developed a gift for
building a rapport with clients and getting to know them at a personal level to help them find their
dream home.
The idea for Janson & May was formed following a conversation Romaine had with a close family
friend who was having issues with his search for a new home. He had the money but not the time to
balance building his business, spending time with his new born and scanning property listings all day.
At the same time a friend of Alaina’s was in the process of buying her first home but was finding her
lack of knowledge of the market or industry a disadvantage when dealing with estate agents.
Serendipity? We think so! It seemed only natural to pool our expertise and love for the property
market to create a property search agency based on integrity, efficiency and personal service.
We hear too many stories about how frustrating and challenging it is to find a new home, especially
at a time when new housing stock is in short supply. Buyers find that they cannot spend all day and
every day scanning estate agents’ websites, often in areas that they have little or no knowledge of,
only to find the property already under offer when they make an enquiry. So let us relieve you of the
hassle and uncertainty of your property search, saving you time, energy and stress.
